I subscribed to the magazine "Computer Shopper" and it said on the post card that i would get 50 free downloads for subscribing. Is there a way to log in or something?

I need to buy and install new software for my computer, but I need to know which is the best computer software to buy before I just go head-in with no direction whatsoever. PC Oh ... just general software. I'm looking for lots of kinds of software...

I used to use firefox but it caused to many problems, right now I am using Internet Explorer 8 but whenever I go to use facebook, you cant see half of the stuff people say, you can see the first 2 lines but after that you cant see what they wrote. Is there any other good free downloads to use the internet other than internet explorer and firefox? Thanks!
