What are good free downloads for special effects that you can add to videos you make for YouTube?

I'm looking for something that someone like supermac18 uses, but I'm not sure what he uses, and if it's even for free. I'm broke right now so I AM looking for a free software download. I don't want to go to a store and but one. Please help, if you don't know who supermac18 is on YouTube then check out one of his videos so you can see the effects he uses! Thanks!
